cigarettes, crepes andno upper case: welcome to paris!

forgive the multiple spelling errors and lack of upper case in this post; this computer (ordinateur) is impossible to type on. however, it is raining (il pleut) quite hard and i dont want to walk t the internet cafe, so i am stuck thwacking out the keys on this thing.

backtrack: 30 minutes into our london experience, when we were waiting to check in, jacob dropped my mom;s camera into the pond by our hostel. it was pretty bad and led to some tense momets, butwas made worse by the fact that our last day there someone bcame into the boys' room while jaco was nappnig and stole his wallet and (brand new) camera.

fast-forward: today i got a new camera! it was expensive but worth it; i ave already taken some great pitures and it is beautiful. howevr, we lost all the amazing picture jacob took in london, including those of the st. paul's cathedral that he wasn't supposed to take.

jacob and i went to an amazing mass at westminster abbey, and that and theother church were ridiculously beautiful. in the cathedral we climbed to the very top (something like 500 very tiny, steep steps) where we had a wonderful view of london. however, we didn't have too long in the city of shkespere before we boarded the eurostar for...

PARIS!

first night inparis wetook a walking tour. we got to see almost every landmark: notre dame, the louvre, the arc de triomphe, and th e eiffel tower, although i was cursing by the end. but notre dame is the most beaufitul church i have ever seem and it is insane how big the louvre is.

our hostel is okay but the showers have no doors or curtains so the water spills all over the floor and there is ony 1 toilet for our entire hall and there are a bunch of 13 year old boys on our floor and so it always smells like a port-a-potty; i went in tere today and someone had left a monster turd sitting in there for a present, i guess.
Our hostel, in the Latin Quarter
last night jacob and i ate at an amazing italian place with spaghtti and a glass of red wine; i had spken french to the waiter the entire time util the check came and i had to ask if i could add a tip and ruiend it. au secours! but i am doing well with my french despite this setback.

and the best ting about pris: the food is the best i have ever had. yu have not had good food until you've had a Nutella crepe and a five cheese panini and pain au chocolat. good smells are everywhere... of course they are interspersed with urine and marijuana, but i take what i can get.

my fingers are all red because i have had to smack every key so theletters type. with tat in mind, i am going to bid y'all adieu, until tomorrow or wheneer jacb breaks my new camera, whatever comes frst.
